Planning a Tamil movie weekend? Friday, October 23, has two reported streaming releases worth checking: Dorothy and Meesaya Murukku 2. Both have attracted attention in this week’s OTT listings, giving viewers a couple of different options to explore from home.
Streaming schedules can change, so check the relevant app on release day to confirm the title, time, regional availability and language options.
1. Dorothy — reported Netflix release
Dorothy is a drama directed by Karthik Subbaraj, featuring Keerthy Suresh, Sananth and Rishikanth among its cast. The film’s reported October 23 streaming date makes it one of the titles to look out for this weekend.
The story is set in the 1980s and follows childhood friends whose lives become entangled in a world shaped by crime and difficult relationships. Viewers who enjoy character-driven dramas may want to check the film’s listing and decide whether its premise appeals to them.
Before watching, verify the availability of Tamil audio, subtitles and the full title in your own account. A reported release date should not be treated as confirmation that every viewer will see the film at the same time.
2. Meesaya Murukku 2 — reported SonyLIV release
Meesaya Murukku 2 is also listed for an October 23 digital release, reportedly on SonyLIV. The project follows Hiphop Tamizha and the world of Gaana music, making it an option for viewers interested in music and stories about the pursuit of a place in the entertainment industry.
Fans should check the streaming platform for the final premiere details and whether the film is included with their subscription. If the title does not appear immediately, check again later rather than relying on an unverified social-media post.
Which movie should you choose?
If you prefer a drama with crime-related themes and character conflicts, Dorothy may be the first title to investigate. If music culture and the journey of aspiring performers interest you more, check the listing for Meesaya Murukku 2.
There is no need to decide based only on a release announcement. Check the synopsis, runtime, rating and availability before choosing your Friday-night watch.
How to plan your OTT weekend
- Search each title directly inside the streaming app.
- Confirm the release date and whether it is available in your region.
- Check language and subtitle options before starting.
- Review the age rating if you are watching with family.
- Keep a backup title ready in case a reported premiere is delayed.
What are you watching this weekend?
With new Tamil titles expected to arrive on streaming services, Friday could be a good opportunity to catch up on films without planning a theatre visit. Confirmed platform listings are the best way to avoid disappointment.
