Friday has arrived, and our signature Friday & Saturday Tamil OTT Tracker is back on TamilTinsel!
This week brings a fresh mix of Tamil and South Indian content across Netflix, Prime Video, JioHotstar and ZEE5. Rather than relying on a fixed theatrical-to-OTT formula—which can vary considerably from one title to another—we have checked the latest announced streaming dates and platform information available for the October 2, 2026 weekend.
From Karthi's spy-action thriller and a new Tamil romance series to a major Malayalam family entertainer arriving with a Tamil version, here is your updated weekend OTT watchlist.
Fresh South Indian entertainment is arriving across the major streaming platforms this weekend.

2. What Should You Watch This Weekend?
- For action and espionage: Sardar 2 is already streaming on Prime Video. Karthi's dual-role performance and the film's spy-thriller setting make it the natural choice for viewers looking for a mainstream action watch.
- For a modern romantic series: #Love brings Aishwarya Lekshmi and Arjun Das together as competing dating-app founders. The central hook revolves around the contrasting ideas of chemistry and compatibility.
- For family-oriented entertainment: Bethlehem Kudumba Unit arrives on JioHotstar with a Tamil version alongside its original Malayalam version. The film mixes romance, family dynamics and comedy.
- For crime comedy: Mother Promise offers a Kannada-language combination of crime, action and dark humour, led by Dhananjaya.
- For a darker crime drama: Pooja Meri Jaan on ZEE5 explores obsession, fear and the search for truth, with Mrunal Thakur and Huma Qureshi in prominent roles.
3. A Note About Theatrical-to-OTT Release Windows
One important change in the current streaming landscape is that there is no dependable universal 4-to-6-week theatrical-to-OTT rule. Release agreements vary by film, distributor and streaming platform.
For example, Sardar 2 reached Prime Video on October 1, only 21 days after its September 10 theatrical release. That makes it a useful example of why TamilTinsel's weekly tracker should rely on confirmed platform announcements rather than assuming a standard window for every movie.
For future editions, we will therefore distinguish between confirmed streaming dates, reported dates and unconfirmed/speculative dates wherever necessary.
4. What Is Coming Next?
The OTT calendar can change quickly, and several films currently in theatres have yet to receive officially confirmed digital dates. One example is Yezhu Kadal Yezhu Malai, which released theatrically on October 1 but does not currently have a confirmed Indian OTT streaming date.
Similarly, upcoming theatrical releases such as Demonte Colony 3 should not be presented as confirmed OTT releases merely because a streaming platform has acquired post-theatrical rights. An OTT date should be added to our tracker only after the platform or makers confirm it.
5. Your TamilTinsel Weekend OTT Tracker
Every Friday and Saturday, TamilTinsel will continue tracking the latest Tamil and South Indian OTT arrivals across Netflix, Prime Video, JioHotstar, ZEE5 and other major streaming services.
Our focus is simple: confirmed platforms, confirmed dates and useful viewing information—without presenting rumours or predictions as facts.
